Through MHALC’s Annual Gifts of Joy Project, referrals for holiday gifts are received from mental health caseworkers. The children and adults who receive these gifts have two things in common: they have a mental health diagnosis and will not be receiving any other gifts this holiday season. IN 2016, MHALC helped over 600 children and adults.

Requests for all sorts of gifts come across their desks, but it’s the simplest ones that stand
out: the myriad of men and women requesting basic hygiene items like soap and deodorant; requests for children who look forward to new books or their own craft supplies; even one individual who requested a case of toilet paper, since she has a hard time affording it.

This year, Weaver Superior Walls, LLC Inc. took 10 names of children and adults who reside in Ephrata. Names and gift ideas were provided, and the Leadership Team and some office team members took to the stores to shop for items to fulfill these simple requests. The quarterly sales team meeting was “wrapped up” by our salesmen taking time to wrap each gift including a Christmas card from all of us wishing each recipient a very Merry Christmas. Our wrapped gifts were dropped off in Lancaster at the MHALC office where they will be provided to the appropriate case worker for personal distribution.

We are proud to make a few of our local community member’s Christmas just a little brighter this year and thank everyone within our Weaver Business Family for being part of a team that was able to participate in this inspiring project. Merry Christmas to all and remember to take time to enjoy the true meaning of the Season!
